Founded in 2016, The Cosmopolitan Club of Philadelphia Giving Circle is dedicated to improving the life circumstances of low-income women and children in Philadelphia by awarding grants to the non-profits that serve them. The awardee of our 2025 $50,000 grant to alleviate housing insecurity was HopePHL. In 2024, this organization helped 440+ adults and youth receive safe housing, provided $250,000 in rental assistance, sheltered 140+children in crisis care nurseries and so much more to support those in our region in need of short-term shelter and housing support. In 2023 and 2024 we awarded grants totaling $90,000 to YEAH Philly (Youth Empowered for Advancement Hangout) a Black-led, community-based nonprofit that works with teens and young adults in west and southwest Philadelphia who have been impacted by gun violence. "The Giving Circle grant helped us open a second elementary school library in Fairhill, North Philadelphia. When children have a choice of exciting books to take home, they want to read, they read more, and their skill increases. We are very grateful."
